The Boston Field Research Conference

Purpose

As a community of field research our purpose is to help each other expand our individual abilities and collective practices to enhance the quality and impact of our work.

Our objectives

  • Stimulate dialogue, debate and our imaginations about what social problems we can address using field methods.
  • Share techniques for collecting and organizing field based data.
  • Share new approaches and improve out current toolbox for analyzing and presenting field data.
  • Provide feedback and guidance in moving our work from data through the writing and publishing cycle.
We all experience a sense of being ‘stuck’ in our research from time to time, and we believe that the Field Researcher community can serve as an invaluable resource for helping us move out of this state.
